Punta Gorda Ghost Walking TourGhostly tales are shared year-round by Danse Macabre Productions with their weekly Historic Ghost Tours. The group has been researching Charlotte Countys paranormal activity for more than 25 years and shares stories of hauntings and history with Punta Gorda vacationers.Historic Ghost Tours of Punta Gorda Offered Year-round Every Saturday at 8 p.m.

Ms. Erin Broemel, a paranormal researcher and former paranormal investigator, leads tours usually in nineteenth century costume. She has studied paranormal activity for more than 15 years.

Most ghost stories are about those who lived in Punta Gorda during the turn of the twentieth century such as the prominent Sandlin, Gilchrist, and Trabue families. Stories of playful spirits haunting Punta Gorda houses and businesses are told. These tales are historically based, eerie and some will probably send shivers down spines but they are not bloody, gory stories. Many tales are the results of paranormal activity and research.

Offered year-round, the tour is led every Saturday night at 8 p.m. from downtowns Gilchrist Park. Historic Ghost Tours of Punta Gorda costs $10 for adults, $7 for Seniors and $5 for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years-old.

Additional Historic Walking Tours

During Halloween a ghost walking tour is offered through Indian Springs Cemetery which many paranormal investigators claim has strong paranormal activity. With more than 2,000 burials, it is believed to be the second oldest cemetery in Charlotte County and is the final resting place of Albert Gilchrist, 20th Governor of Florida and one of Punta Gordas founders. Headstones date to the 1800s through the twenty-first century. Tour participants stand near headstones to hear stories of ghost sightings and tales about some of the cemeterys residents.

A Christmas walking tour of Punta Gorda is available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights during the holidays. The lantern guided tour includes local history, Christmas tales and reading from the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. For the 2009 season, the tour begins November 27 and is available through January 3. With $5 adult tickets and $3 for children, this is an affordable, family-fun activity. Friday and Sunday nights the tour starts at 7 p.m., Saturdays it departs at 5 p.m.

Throughout the year visitors to Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte can learn about Charlotte Countys history through a 90-minute walking tour through downtown called "You've Come a Long Way Charlotte County!" The excursion covers the area's history dating back to the Calusa Indians all the way through the recent renaissance ignited by 2004s Hurricane Charley. The tour departs every Sunday at 2 p.m. Adult tickets are $5 and $3 for children.

Things to Know When Joining a Punta Gorda Walking Tour

Those participating on a walking tour with Danse Macabre Productions are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather (which depending on season may include wearing insect repellent), and bring along a camera. It is common for orbs, shadow people, and other energies associated with the paranormal, to appear in images.

Advance reservations are required for all tours (Tel: 941/421.5265) and they are between 60 and 90 minutes long. Those who participate in a Danse Macabre Production tour receive a discount on a future excursion offered by the group and guaranteed a ghostly good time.

Many businesses and institutions use custom tshirts with embroidery as staff uniforms in Tampa FL. Sourcing wholesale embroidered polo shirts and t shirts, even golf tee shirts, is not a problem, though. Aside from these, you can even get embroidered camp shirts, button downs and jackets and even promotional items. Tampa FL suppliers can give you what you need.

Most uniforms have the company or organization logo embroidered on them. This is popular with both large and small companies and groups because embroidery can be done in large quantities or small runs. It is also easy to make color changes in the same design to differentiate between staff categories or assignments, for example. Embroidery is, therefore, not only decorative but functional and flexible, as well.

Embroidered logos are priced according to the number of stitches required to produce it. This is determined by the size and complexity of the logo design. On the average, embroidery pricing runs to $3.50 per item for designs using up to 10,000 stitches. If the design uses more stitches, an additional $7.50 per item is needed. Of course, your supplier will be the one who can determine how many stitches your design will require. More minimalist logos will cost less.

If your company or organization does not have a logo yet, some suppliers can provide a logo development service, as well.

Your company or organization logo needs to be in a high resolution print or digital file. This is then converted into an embroidery file. This file can then be used again and again for several batches of uniforms or other items.

Before any actual item is embroidered, a good supplier will produce an embroidery sample for your review. This is to ensure that any alterations or fine tuning can be done before mass production.

Another option aside from embroidery is screen printing. Any image can be screen printed on uniforms and most promotional items such as towels, aprons, tote bags, backpacks, fanny packs, caps and even umbrellas. If you already have a high resolution print or digital copy of the image you want, you can give this to your supplier. Alternatively, some suppliers can create the image you want based on your references or descriptions.

For t-shirts, screen printing can usually be done using the four color process where all possible colors are made through a combination of red, yellow, blue and black, or using 10 different spot colors. White garments are best to use for the four color process, although suppliers often have ways of adapting the image to even drk garments. It is not recommended to have a mix of light and dark colored garments for the same design, though, as this would mean additional costs. This is because light and dark garments require different pre-press and on-press processes.

If you will require garments in childrens sizes, your images need to take this into consideration. Unless you are willing to spend extra for a separate file for childrens sizes, your logo or image has to fit both adult sizes and childrens sizes.

Remember that as in most cases in production, ordering more means lower cost per piece. Volume brings discounts. Most suppliers accept a minimum order of 24 items. If you have a large requirement, you dont have to worry because these suppliers can actually print up to 2400 items every eight hours. Thats only one shift. They often have several shfts working round the clock, too.

Whether you have a resort, a sports business, a store, a school or any organization, you can easily source custom embroidered polo shirts, t-shirts, golf tee shirts and promotional items from Tampa FL suppliers.

A trip to the beach may sound like fun, but ensure that your pet is not a menace to others by

Keeping your dog under voice control or on a leash

Cleaning up after your dog

The time we spend lazing on the beach makes for some amazing memories. And it only gets better when we have our pet in tow. All that follows is a lot of splashing, playing, fetching, and rolling in the sands.

Unfortunately, not all beaches permit dogs to enter the area. But there is no reason to worry, as we've made a list of the most amazing pet-friendly beaches in the country.

Best Pet-friendly Beaches in the US

Located in San Diego at the end of Voltaire Street, this stretch of the Ocean Beach is very canine friendly. It has a 24-hour leash-free zone for dogs at the north end of the beach, which also includes an exercise area. The beach was established in 1972, and prides itself to be one of the first official leash-free dog beaches in the United States. This island includes 5000 acres of green cover, lined by some beautifully serene beaches. You can camp on the designated grounds with your leashed dog, or explore the park, or simply go frolicking on the beach. Off-limit areas for dogs include the pier and the cabins.Nags Head is a long stretch of the seaside where you can take your leashed dog out on a walk. Dogs, however, are not allowed to enter any area designated for swimming. If you're coming from out of town, there are a lot of pet-friendly hotels in the vicinity, which will allow you and your pet to have a great holiday by the sea.The Paw Playground here is your dog's idea of beach heaven. This fenced area has showers where your dogs can bathe, run over to the beach off-leashed, and pretty much indulge into all the madness that he wishes to. There is an entry charge of USD 5, but you may opt to buy an annual pass if you're planning to come here frequently. No leashes here beyond the south of 10th Avenue! So your dog can roam about to its heart's content, roll in the sand, surf on the calm waters, and even take a swim if it fancies one. Another plus is that Carmel is quite a pet-friendly town, so finding accommodation for you and your pet will be a breeze. For golf fans, the Pebble Links course is just a stone's throw away. Another leash-free beach, the Longport Dog Beach spells supreme fun for your dog. There aren't any special rules to follow, but you need to ensure that you carry waste disposal bags and clean up after your dog. Also, ensure that you carry adequate drinking water to keep your pooch hydrated, as you won't get it here on the beach. Huntington Beach has been voted as one of the most dog-friendly cities in the United States. With this title, it isn't a surprise to see the city's beach featured in the list. The seaside area is maintained by a non-profit organization called the Huntington Dog Beach, which accepts donations that go towards maintaining the beach. Your dog gets to roam and frolic leash-free, and also socialize with other canines. All dogs tend to have a natural aversion towards fences, so it is a welcome sight when they are let out to play in a partially fenced section on the beach. Now, the dog undoubtedly is happy with this arrangement, but you need to be careful and keep a constant eye on your pet while you're at the Dog Beach in the Picnic Island Park. This is a small and secluded beach which has shallow waters that are perfect for swimming, along with picnic tables. You can let your dog off the leash here, as long as he can be voice controlled effectively. Poop bags and freshwater bowls are available for your dog at the beach. There is also a deli close by if you wish to enjoy a picnic lunch here. The Paw Park has special facilities for your pooch, including a dog shower, leash posts, and drinking water fountains. There is a fenced play area for dogs, which leads to the beach. Your pet needs to be restricted within this area. Other facilities provided include picnic tables and benches.

While an evening out on the beach with your beloved pet may sound perfect, please ensure that it does not pose a problem to your fellow beach-goers. Always ensure that your pet is under control, and never ventures out of the designated areas.

HUDSON, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa Bay area authorities on Monday charged a man with four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his ex-girlfriend, her parents and her new boyfriend.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office charged 28-year-old Adam Matos late Monday afternoon. Detectives say the victims were killed around Aug. 28.

Officials went to the Hudson home Sept. 4 at the request of a concerned family member. Deputies found the four bodies piled atop each other in an open field about a mile from the home. The victims had apparently lain unseen for several days.

An arrest report says Matos took his 4-year-old son from the home after the killings. He and the unharmed boy were found at a Tampa hotel on Sept. 4 after a manhunt. Authorities charged Matos with an unrelated count of aggravated assault stemming from an earlier incident with his girlfriend.

Matos, who has been in custody since Sept. 4, is being held without bail at the Pasco County Jail.

According to the arrest report, Pasco County deputies had gone to the waterfront home on Aug. 28, when Megan Brown -- Matos' estranged girlfriend -- called authorities because Matos allegedly held her at knifepoint. Officials said Matos fled the residence before detectives arrived.

Officials discovered that Matos made more than 200 calls to Brown and her family in an eight-hour span on Aug. 28.

The victims were Brown, her parents, Margaret and Greg Brown, both 52; and another man, Nicholas Leonard, who was 37.

On Aug. 29, officials said Matos sold several items on Craigslist from the Browns' home, including the couple's two dogs. One of the people who bought the dogs said he smelled a foul odor in the home.

The Brown family recently lived in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley, as did Matos, who denied any involvement in the killings to reporters shortly after authorities caught up with him and the boy at the hotel. Matos had a lengthy criminal history in Pennsylvania, authorities said, and was charged in that state Monday with being a fugitive from justice, according to court records. He had been on probation for retail theft in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
